The Tech completed the install and I was told that machine is operating as it should. I asked the Tech if he had access to a flow meter so we could confirm my suspicion, he did not. He checked some parameters and even had a replacement solenoid shipped overnight but there was no change. I had a suspicion the the machine was consuming a tremendous amount of air and the Install Tech did also. The requirement sheet that I received for the machine stated a 5.29 cfm or more air requirement and 10.59 cfm with the chip air blast option, I did not purchase the chip air blast. I have to say that I am a bit disappointed in the way mazak is handling this issue. How did you make out with the huge air consumption? I am seriously worried about that. … There are many more but I need to browse the parameters list to remember them. If you do this and are using spare tool selection, set F329 bit 7 = 1 (confirm this is the right param in your manual). T would be a 6mm end mill with 8mm of flute length and 19mm of reach for non-ferrous (N) materials. I name my tools using a combination of relevant info and an incrementing number. Identifiers are really cool and allow you to name tools. Look into tool groups and tool identifiers (replacement for groups). This combination broke a number of small taps for me before I figured out what was going on. One auto sets a tip angle on the drill, another auto compensates for the amount of length added by the tip which can lead to drilling too deep, and there’s a tap parameter that assumes a certain number of start threads and auto taps that extra depth. There are parameters that you may want to look into regarding both drills and taps. This can be changed by a PLC parameter found in the electrical manual. By default, setting feed to 0 will stop rapids as well. It’s possible that SmoothEZ differs from SmoothG as well, so verify before changing anything. I don’t remember the exact relevant parameters, but here are some things you should consider looking into and verifying if they seem relevant to you. Having received a new Mazak horizontal a bit less than a year ago, I’ve found the control to be absolutely excellent. Great in many cases if you are just trying to get a machine, but to an advanced Mazatrol user or Mazak shop they may find that a bit on the aggravating side.Ĭongrats! Excited to see how it performs. For instance, the load monitoring system that monitors load on the spindle and axis motors is an option.

MAZAK CNC SIMULATOR SOFTWARE

I have spec'd out a few of the EZ lathes, but one thing I noticed (at least on the turning side) is that a lot of the software functionality has been made optional in order to keep the price down. The fact that you can spec so many options on one is also a plus, giving it a lot more configurability. There are definitely some things I find interesting to say the least (coming from a legacy Haas user) but the structure and overall build quality looks and seems great for a machine built domestically.

MAZAK CNC SIMULATOR SERIES

I hope it works out well for us.ĭaveVery nice machine! I was able to see an EZ20 a few months ago, and I really like the EZ series from Mazak. First new machine since 2008 and first ever machine with Probe and Programmable Coolant. The order was placed near the end of September. DO YOU WANT FRIES WITH THAT? EXTRA KETCHUP? GOOD MORNING IT IS FRIDAY AND YOU FORGOT TO PUSH THE SETUP KEY BEFORE HOMING THE MACHINE WITH THE DOORS OPEN.

AHHHHGGGGHHHHH!!! STFU!! Make sure you know how to turn that schit off. Learning curve from 640 series not so bad. ToolCatSolidworks type files can be loaded directly. My shop blood runs "Mazak Blue": pre-2000-era QT's (and a VTC) that are just awesome! (Now that I know how to fix them when required.haha) Sweet machine by the way! Keep us posted with more pics and feedback. Mazatrol milling can do any 2.5-axis work you can dream of, but if you need 3D toolpaths, external CAD/CAM is required.Īlthough I do believe the new fancy high-end Mazak controls have 3D programming capability as standard.? Although the milling can be tricky to learn all the tricks!.lol

Mazatrol is slick! You can stand at the control and whip out a custom set of vice jaws in no time, then have a program written and tools set and parts running. Yes, all Mazaks from the last couple decades have G-code programming capability as standard.
